1 lb. ground beef or turkey
2 onions, chopped
4 cloves garlic, chopped
2 - 14 oz
cans, diced tomatoes, undrained
1 - 15 oz can tomato sauce
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp ground cumin
½ tsp ground oregano
½ tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
¼ tsp cayenne pepper
2 - 15 oz cans kidney beans, rinsed and drained
2 tbsp corn starch
¼ cup water
4 Serrano peppers
Cook ground beef or turkey in heavy skillet until
browned. Drain. Mix all ingredients except cornstarch and water in 3-4 quart
slow cooker. Cover and cook on low heat for 6-7 hours, or until vegetables are
tender. Turn heat on high. Mix cornstarch and water until smooth, and then add
to chili. Stir well and cook uncovered for 15 minutes or until slightly
thickened. Makes 8 adult servings. Enjoy.
